Jeanne's Story

I didn't originally set out to work in human resources. I trained to be a teacher, following in the footsteps of my parents, both lifelong educators. While the classroom wasn't ultimately where I landed, the instinct that drew me there never left me: I love helping people understand complex ideas and seeing the moment when the "lightbulb" goes on.

Today, that instinct defines how I work as an HR consultant. As President and Principal Consultant of Corey Consulting, I partner with small to mid-sized companies to not simply "do HR," but to help leaders and employees understand how HR, compliance, performance, culture, and business strategy all connect. I translate complex HR concepts into practical insight that leaders can act on immediately.

Over more than two decades in senior HR roles at NECCO, Philips Healthcare, and Avery Dennison, I've built and transformed HR functions during periods of rapid growth, acquisitions, and operational change. I've doubled workforces during peak seasons, reduced hiring costs by 75% by bringing recruitment in-house, helped integrate global acquisitions, and supported business growth from $350M to $1.6B. For the past eight years, I have advised growing companies with 15–200 employees on the HR systems, leadership decisions, and people practices that help them scale effectively.

My expertise includes talent management, workforce planning, succession planning, performance management, and leading through change. I am also deeply passionate about training and development, designing programs that make complex HR and organizational topics accessible and actionable.

I believe that when leaders understand how HR supports the business, and employees understand their role in the bigger picture, organizations perform better. That's the work I love to do every day.

I've always been drawn to the idea that the right learning experience can make someone's work — and their life — easier. Over more than two decades in instructional design, learning development, and project management, I've found that what I enjoy most is taking complex information and turning it into learning that people can actually understand, use, and feel confident applying.

Today, that approach defines how I work as a Learning Development and Project Management Consultant with Corey Consulting. I partner with small to mid-sized organizations to design and implement learning solutions that meet training, regulatory, and operational goals. My work spans eLearning, microlearning, and instructor-led programs, always focused on clarity, practicality, and alignment with real business needs.

I work closely with leaders and subject matter experts to identify what employees actually need to know, where gaps exist, and how thoughtful instructional design can make work easier and more effective.
